Brooklyn -- the most populated borough in New York City -- is reportedly being searched by MTV with hopes of finding the same type of reality drama that was unearthed for Laguna Beach, Maui Fever and 8th & Ocean.

Brooklyn Tech currently has a student population of more than 4,200 students from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, including Hispanic, African American and Asian. The school is located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn -- a neighborhood in the New York City borough.
"[Brooklyn Tech] does not only represent the people of Brooklyn, it also offers the inspiration, education, values and glimmer of hope that all other public schools are lacking," states information MTV provided to Brooklyn Tech about the pilot. "But at the end of the day, despite all its diversity, class divides and Brooklyn grit, [Brooklyn Tech] is just like any other American public high school."
While the New York Daily News reported on Thursday that MTV officials said they "don't comment on projects in development," city education department officials told the newspaper that Brooklyn comes from "a partner of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons." Despite casting calls being scheduled at Brooklyn Tech, city officials said there would be no filming at school.
"If a student agrees to be filmed it would be separate from the school," Marge Feinberg, an education department spokeswoman, told The Daily News.
