The Real World keeps going, and going, and going.

MTV has announced that it has renewed its long-running reality TV series for four additional seasons, extending the reality TV series through its 26th season, and has also ordered four more The Real World/Road Rules Challenge editions that will extend the spinoff series through its 21st season, The Hollywood Reporter reported Monday.
"MTV is proud to continue our relationship with [The Real World's] Bunim-Murray [production company] that stretches back over 15 years," MTV programming president Tony DiSanto said, according to the Reporter. "With each new season, the Real World franchise continues to evolve and captivate our ever-changing audience."
MTV debuted The Real World in New York in 1992 and is considered one of the pioneers of the current modern American reality television era.
The Real World: Brooklyn, the show's 21st edition, premiered on January 7 and will air its season finale tonight at 10PM ET/PT. Immediately following the finale, the network will air the show's reunion special at 11PM ET/PT.

The Real World: Cancun -- the recently announced 22nd iteration -- is currently filming in Cancun.
One week after The Real World: Brooklyn's finale, The Real World/Road Rules Challenges: The Duel II will premiere in its time slot. TJ Lavin will return to host as 26 former stars from both The Real World and the now-canceled Road Rules series take part in wild challenges as they compete for a cash prize totaling $300,000.
The Real World was created by Bunim-Murray Productions co-founders Jon Murray and the late Mary-Ellis Bunim.
