Celebrity Rap Superstars' cast of hip-hop wannabes will include three celebrities with previous reality ties -- Kevin Federline ex-wife and former Ex-Wives Club co-host Shar Jackson; former Laguna Beach and The Hills' star Jason Wahler; and The Girls Next Door co-star Kendra Wilkinson.  Also participating will be former NFL football star Jamal Anderson, former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, online gossip guru Perez Hilton, Napoleon Dynamite actor Efren Ramirez, and former The Parkers actress Countess Vaughn.

Veteran hip-hop artists who will be mentoring the Celebrity Rap Superstar participants during the competition are Bizarre, Bubba Sparxx, Kurupt, McLyte, Redman, Tone Loc, Too Short, and Warren G.

Hilton (whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.), Tone Loc, and Warren G's participation in Celebrity Rap Superstar had previously been announced by MTV, which began developing the series in May under the title Rapping with the Stars.

Celebrity Rap Superstar will follow a similar format to other reality shows -- such as Dancing with the Stars and Skating with Celebrities -- that pair celebrity participants with industry professionals.

The competition will begin with the eight hip-hop wannabes being mentored by the established rappers who share their tricks of the trade.  Over the course of eight weeks, the contestants will perform cover songs, original raps or freestyle routines for a live studio audience and a panel of judges consisting of Los Angeles radio host Big Boy; former Celebrity Fit Club fifth-season participant Da Brat; and Run DMC member Darryl "DMC" McDaniels.

Following each week's performances, home viewers will be able to cast their votes for their favorite celebrity contestant, with the participant who receives the least amount of votes being kicked to the curb quicker than Vanilla Ice.

In the end, the celebrity participant who home viewers feel has refined their rapping repertoire to the best of their ability will be crowned "Celebrity Rap Superstar" and take home a cash prize.

Celebrity Rap Superstar will be hosted by actor and comedian Kevin Hart.
