Discovery Channel has announced that Mythbusters' 100th episode -- a tribute to Angus MacGyver, the legendary firearm-hating TV secret agent that always seemed able to use everyday items to get himself out of any tight jam -- will on Wednesday, February 20 at 9PM ET/PT.

In the 100th episode, special effects experts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage as well as their "Build Team" of Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara will tackle some of the MacGyver TV show character's seemingly impossible escapes to see if they are actually plausible.

Hyneman and Savage will try to blow a hole in a wall using pure sodium metal dropped in a bottle of water, while Belleci, Byron and Imahara will try to build an ultralight airplane with raw bamboo, a small engine and a roll of duct tape.

The 100th episode will end with the "Build Team" challenging Hyneman and Savage to a four-part MacGyver competition -- picking a lock, developing film with common kitchen liquids, building a compass, and devising an aerial signal for a rescue helicopter -- with just one hour and no Hollywood help to finish each task.

Mythbusters premiered in October 2003 on Discovery Channel and has challenged more than 300 myths over the last four years.  It's sixth season premiered last month and currently airs new episodes in the Wednesdays at 9PM ET/PT time slot.
