NBC has announced that pop superstar Lance Bass will get “’N Sync” with NBC when he joins the network’s newest series, “The Search for the Most Talented Kid in America,” as the show’s lead judge in all four episodes of the new talent-reality series. Bass will be joined each week by two celebrity guest judges who will be announced at a later date. “The Search for the Most Talented Kid in America” will feature youths from across America competing head-to-head in an overall talent competition, which ranges from song and dance, to the most exceptional and unusual acts. Each week, the show will highlight the individual talent of 12 kids, who will be scored by Bass and the two additional weekly celebrity judges. The trio of judges will pick one winner from each age category (3-7, 8-12 and 13-15), resulting in a total of three finalists at the end of each show. These winners will then advance to the final round in Los Angeles to compete for the grand prize of a large cash prize.

The series will also include behind-the-scenes footage of the auditions, which were held in 14 cities nationwide.

A member of the pop sensation ‘N Sync, Bass and fellow band mates solidified their place in music history with numerous awards and multi-million record sales of such albums as “’NSYNC,” “No Strings Attached” and “Celebrity.” Bass has also formed his own production companies, Lance Bass Productions and A Happy Place Productions, which specialize in family-oriented feature films and television projects. In addition, Bass runs his own management company, Freelance Entertainment, which houses and guides up-and-coming music artists.

Last year, Bass produced and starred in Miramax’ romantic comedy film “On the Line,” and appeared in others such as “Zoolander.” He also guest-starred in the television series “7th Heaven” and “The Simpsons.”

“The Search For the Most Talented Kid in America” is a production of NBC Studios. Stuart Krasnow (“Dog Eat Dog,” “Weakest Link”) serves as the executive producer, and Peter Johansen (“The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn,” “The Martin Short Show”) co-executive produces.
