Laura Fedor and Sophie Zalokar became the seventh finalist eliminated from Nashville Star's sixth season during last night's live broadcast of the NBC reality series.

Laura, an 18-year-old from Willoughby, OH, and Sophie, a 16-year-old from Willoughby, were booted from Nashville Star's sixth season based on home viewer votes cast immediately following last Monday night's live episode. 

"This was a great opportunity," said Laura after her and Sophie's ouster was revealed.  "I love everyone in the cast.  I'm going to miss you all so much.  I couldn't have asked for anything better.  Honestly, this is amazing."

"We hope that you'll be seeing us somewhere down the road," added Sophie.

Laura and Sophie performed Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight" during last Monday night's live episode, and the duo was mentored by songwriter and producer Jeffrey Steele.

"Girls, it's the same thing as last week," had commented judge and mentor John Rich. 

"If I was your big brother, I would load up your bags myself and take you back home.  It's like band camp.  This business is so hard and it's so ravenous, I worry about you so bad.  You've got so much future.  If I was your mentor, I would have just thrown my hands up.  I don't think you're ready at any capacity to take a real run at the big time right now."

"Is it still the high school thing?" asked Sophie.

"It's because you're child-like in your minds," answered John.  "When I see that package with you two fighting and crying with each other and all that, this is music for your life.  You have to spend your whole life going at this.  You can't sit around and be cry babies."

"I think you guys need to go home and develop a little bit more," Jewel bluntly told the duo. 

"We got a lot of people that really want this thing, and I want you to realize how important this is and how many people are working with you," said Jeffrey.  "I believe in you guys.  I think there's something there."

In addition to Laura and Sophie, Shawn Mayer, a 21-year-old from May City, IA who currently resides in Madison, TN, was revealed to be the other member of this week's bottom two based on home viewer votes cast after last Monday night's broadcast.

"There's no reason in ranking myself right now," said Shawn before it was revealed she was safe.  "I know that I'm thankful to be here and I'm going to fight no matter what.  If I stay, I'm fighting.  If I'm out, I'm still going to fight for my dreams."

Laura and Sophie then performed Taylor Swift's "Picture to Burn" during last night's broadcast.  Instead of commenting on their performance, John decided to take the opportunity to find out why Sophie rolled her eyes at Jewel during last week's episode.

"It's hard for me to even comment on this performance because I'm so upset about last week," said John during last night's broadcast.  "I think I'd like an explanation -- as would millions of people that saw what happened last week.  First of all I'd like an explanation, why do you think it's okay to roll your eyes and disrespect Jewel on national television?"

"Perfectly honest, I didn't even know I was doing it," answered Sophie.  "Someone told me later and I was like, 'What?'  They were like, 'Yeah.'"

"Maybe you had a seizure," commented Jewel.

"I really am, I'm really sorry about that," replied Sophie.  "I didn't know."

"Okay, here we go.  You guys look better than you've looked," continued Jewel.  "You guys' harmonies have gotten worse consistently as the show's gone on.  I haven't see you guys get better."

"Girls, you look really grown up," said Jeffrey.  "I hope that can carry you threw to the end.  I'm proud of the job, but it wasn't great tonight."

Shawn then performed Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" before Nashville Star host Billy Ray Cyrus revealed Laura and Sophie had been ousted.

"There's really something great going on here that I think is a couple years out," commented Jeffrey after the results were revealed.  "I think if you guys can hold this friendship together, there's big things down the road for you.  I really do, I think there's some really raw talent there.  I think it's a couple years off."

Nashville Star's next episode will air live on Monday, July 21 at 9PM ET/PT, with each of the Top 5 finalists -- Shawn, Ashlee Hewitt, Coffey, Gabe Garcia, and Melissa Lawson -- performing an original song. 

In addition, another sixth-season finalist will be eliminated based on home viewer votes cast immediately after last night's broadcast.
