Charla Corn's Nashville Star journey ended before it ever really got off the ground.

The 28-year-old former CMT correspondent was removed from Nashville Star's sixth-season Top 12 on the eve of the show's first performance episode taping last Monday night, Access Hollywood reported Friday.
"It became apparent in leading up to the premiere of the show that she could not sustain the rigorous schedule," a source close to the show told Access Hollywood. "She began to have trouble with her vocals even losing her voice completely at times."
Nashville Star's sixth-season debut was filmed last Monday at Nashville's Acuff Theater in the Opry Entertainment Complex, with the Top 12 finalists each performing.
However by then Corn had already been replaced by Third Town -- a trio that consists of Jeffrey Fairchild, James "Little Tony" Kouns and Tony Mosti.

"During rehearsals for the first episode, producers realized that Third Town was better suited for the Top 12 than Charla Corn," executive producer Sally Ann Salsano told Access Hollywood. "This was a very hard decision for everyone involved in the show but when a show starts with the Top 12, we as producers have to do everything in our power to make sure that the Top 12 acts from the nation wide search are truly represented."
Nashville Star's pre-taped sixth-season debut will air tonight at 9PM ET/PT on NBC, with the judging panel -- country singer, songwriter and producer John Rich; fifth-season host Jewel; and songwriter and producer Jeffrey Steele -- eliminating one of the Top 12 finalists at the broadcast's conclusion.
Unfortunately for Corn, she never even had the chance to be given the boot.
"We wish Charla the best," Salsano told Access Hollywood.
