NBC has bumped the premiere date of America's Got Talent's second season back a week. Instead of premiering on Tuesday, May 29 as the network previously announced, the new season of the Simon Cowell-produced variety-talent competition that showcases performers from across the country and let's America choose the winner will now debut with a special two-hour premiere on Tuesday, June 5 at 9PM ET/PT.

Talk show host and former Dancing with the Stars 3 participant Jerry Springer will replace fellow talk show host Regis Philbin as host of America's Got Talent. The 75-year-old New York-based Philbin reportedly decided not to return for America's Got Talent's second season due to the "heavy travel schedule" the show's Los Angeles tapings required.
Sharon Osbourne, a former star of MTV's The Osbournes and current judge on Britain's The X-Factor reality competition series, is replacing America's Got Talent first season judge Brandy Norwood for the show's second season, and she'll be joined by returning judges David Hasselhoff and Piers Morgan.
A surprise hit, last summer's first America's Got Talent edition averaged a 3.5/10 rating/share in the Adults 18-49 demographic and 11 million total viewers. America's Got Talent is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Cowell's SYCO TV. Cowell, Ken Warwick, Cecile Frot-Coutaz, Jason Raff and James Sunderland are the executive producers.
