NBC has confirmed that it has agreed to allow The Hills stars Spencer and Heidi Pratt to attempt to return to I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, however according to the network, the show's producers don't have the final say on the matter.

"I had a long chat with Spencer yesterday evening saying you know what Spencer, if you do want back on the show ... we're going to have to ask the other cast members to have you back and then there'll probably have to be some kind of penalty for what's effectively a break in the rules, which is leaving the camp," NBC reality programming chief Paul Telegdy told American Idol host Ryan Seacrest during a Wednesday morning interview on his syndicated radio show.
According to Telegdy, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'s cast members were going to be asked to decide whether to allow Spencer and Heidi, who were shown finally following through on their repeated threats to quit the show on Tuesday night's broadcast, to return on Wednesday morning.
"[Returning after quitting] has happened before in other iterations of the show around the world so we're going to talk to the cast when they wake up and see whether Spencer and Heidi can come back," Telegdy said.
During the interview, Telegdy also confirmed yesterday's reports that Heidi's sister Holly Montag and Daniel Baldwin -- the older brother of current I'm a Celebrity cast member Stephen Baldwin -- were set to join to show after the couple's departure.

"[Spencer and Heidi] were on their way [back] to America and then I think they thought better of it -- possibly partly because Holly Montag, Heidi's sister, was already on a plane on the way down here," Telegdy said.
Telegdy did not clarify whether Holly or Daniel had already been scheduled to join the show prior to Heidi and Spencer's departure. The last several seasons of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'s original British edition (which has aired annually since 2002) have regularly featured one or two additional celebrities being added to the competition several days after it has begun.
Although he stopped short of confirming Holly will still be joining the show regardless of whether the cast allows Spencer and Heidi to return, Telegdy did reveal that Daniel ended up joining I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! last night.
"I think that there's some interesting sibling rivalries potentially building in the jungle," Telegdy said. "Last night Stephen's long lost brother Daniel Baldwin arrived in the camp. The rest of the camp was absolutely delighted to see a new member in the camp but Stephen didn't budge an inch and there was a certain amount of electricity... they're playing nice but they've said about two words to each other."
