"I want to thank everybody in the world that decided to vote for me... everybody in Hickory obviously," said Jon before host Bill Bellamy revealed he was the winner. "My mom, my dad, my lovely fiance... Thanks for all your support."
Jon was revealed to be the Last Comic Standing 5 champ after "the most votes in Last Comic history" were cast following last Wednesday night's penultimate episode that saw the elimination of Gerry Dee as well as Lavell and Jon each deliver their final stand-up routine of the season. Home viewers in the U.S., U.K., Australia and Canada were then allowed to vote for either Jon or Lavell following the broadcast.
Last night's two-hour Last Comic Standing 5 finale also included a stand-up performance by prop-comic Carrot Top; a brief appearance by comedian Dan Cook to promote his new film Good Luck Chuck; video footage from throughout the show's season; a roast of the finalists by fellow comics that included several former Last Comic Standing contestants from various seasons; as well as farewell stand-up routines by Jon and Lavell.
Prior to appearing as a Last Comic Standing 5 finalist, Reep had appeared on Comedy Central's Premium Blend and Comedy Central Presents; TBS' Pit Stop Comedy; NBC's Late Friday; CMT's Comedy Stage and Comedy Club; as well as the ABC sitcom Rodney. However he's probably best known for asking "That thing got a Hemi?" in recent Dodge Ram commercials.
He's scheduled to appear in the film Harold and Kumar go to Amsterdam next summer.
