NBC has announced that its much-delayed Next Action Star reality series, an America's Next Top Model-like competition that seeks to find America's next male and female action movie stars, will premiere Tuesday, June 15 at 8PM ET/PT.

Over the course of ten one-hour episodes, the fourteen finalists will be given the star treatment, living together in a Hollywood Hills mansion, while enduring a rigorous schedule that includes daily acting lessons, combat and stunt training, underwater work, descender training, race car driving and wirework. Each week, the climax of the episode will be a breath-taking stunt action sequence competition — and each week one pair of contestants will be eliminated — until the final two are named the Next Action Stars — earning starring roles in the Silver Pictures movie, which is the series’ finale.
Initially announced in September 2002, the series was originally expected to have aired as part of NBC's Summer 2003 reality programming slate (which included such series as For Love Or Money, Last Comic Standing, The Restaurant, and Who Wants To Marry My Dad? -- all of which are also returning this summer) but was delayed for unspecified reasons.
