Airing versus a repeat episode of CBS' CSI, April 8's Apprentice episode drew 22.0 million overall viewers and a 10.7 rating, 28 share in Adults 18-49, winning its time period by every key measure and delivering its highest ratings ever ever in head-to-head CSI competition. The performance brought Apprentice's second-best ratings ever, trailing only March 25's eleventh episode, which aired on an evening when CSI was preempted by NCAA basketball coverage.

Apprentice was even more dominant among younger viewers, single-handedly outdrawing its combined CBS-ABC-Fox-UPN-WB competition among the Adults 18-34 demographic. Among Adults 18-49, its margin of victory over second place was a still-dominant 70 percent (10.7 vs. a 6.3 for CBS' CSI). The 10.7 rating in Adults 18-49 also marks a 70 percent increase versus NBC's season average for the time period prior to The Apprentice.
