NBC has announced The Biggest Loser's fourth season will premiere sometime late this summer.

NBC's announcement marks the second time in the last three years that the network has announced plans to premiere The Biggest Loser during late summer -- however should the network actually follow through with its scheduling plan, The Biggest Loser's fourth season would become the first The Biggest Loser season to debut in late summer.

Two years ago, NBC announced that The Biggest Loser's second installment would get a jump on the network's fall schedule launch and premiere in August 2005. However a month later, the network decided to move the show's debut to mid-September.

Last year, The Biggest Loser's third season  -- the only reality show on NBC's Fall 2006 schedule -- stuck to its originally announced premiere date and debuted with the rest of the network's new slate in September.

Regardless of when it actually premieres, The Biggest Loser's fourth season will feature a new host, with Days of Our Lives actress Alison Sweeney replacing Caroline Rhea, the comedian that had hosted the series' first three editions.

In addition to The Biggest Loser's fourth season, NBC has announced plans to air three other reality shows this summer.   Last Comic Standing 5, which will be hosted by new host Bill Bellamy, will premiere Wednesday, June 13 at 9PM ET/PT.  America's Got Talent, which will be hosted by new host Jerry Springer, will premiere on Tuesday, May 29 at 9PM ET.  Age of Love, a new reality dating series, will premiere on Monday, June 18 at 10PM ET.
