NBC has announced that it will air The One That Got Away, a new two-hour reality romance special, on Monday, May 31 at 9PM ET/PT. Previously announced as Little Black Book, the series will follow bachelor Skipper Kress as he seeks to rekindle a relationship with one of seven former girlfriends competing for his heart.

Sharing a house in South Carolina, Skipper and the women will participate in the usual types of reality dating show events, with the series culminating in Skipper's selection of one "exe." "We found the bravest guy in the world who decided to open up his romantic past and take a shot at falling in love all over again," said executive producer Joe Livecchi. "Of course, along the way our bachelor must own up to his actions and say goodbye to six former loves forever. There's no way to prepare for what this guy had to face."

Kress is a 27 year old Charlotte, NC bartender/manager and University of North Carolina at Charlotte graduate whom, difficult as it may seem to believe, NBC claims is known locally as North Carolina's "most eligible bachelor." Then again, perhaps we're alone in assuming that somewhere in the entire state of North Carolina there's a better catch than a former Ponderosa Steak House bartender who was arrested and charged with serving alcohol to a minor in December 2001. After all, who wants to marry a handsome and successful doctor, lawyer, or tech stock millionaire when there's still a guy who can get you into the Sunday all-you-can-eat breakfast bar for free out there.

"This show takes all of the ingredients of great reality television -- the romance, the arguments, the tears and the gut wrenching decisions that change people's lives -- and plays it all out from beginning to end in one emotion packed two hour show" said executive producer Bob Kusbit. "There's no waiting for next week...or the next six weeks. You get it all in one night."
