NBC has sent an ominous letter to "The Apprentice" contestants who go public with complaints about the Donald Trump's reality show.

The New York Daily News has been rife with complaints lately from "fired" contestants badmouthing Trump and the show itself. Mark Garrison complained the show's creative editing made him look bad while Jennifer Wallen bashed Trump for being sexist.

An official letter sent to contestants from NBC's legal office says, in part: "As you may know, two 'Apprentice' participants have recently spoken to Lloyd Grove of the Daily News alleging that they were portrayed unfairly in the program. ...

"These actions constitute a serious breach of the Applicant Agreement."

The letter reminds the contestants violations of their contracts with Mark Burnett Productions and NBC could cost them $5 million -- "obviously not a pleasant prospect."
