Kitt was in labor for 30 hours and delivered her baby boy via waterbirth at the couple's home in Hidden Hills, CA, on Tuesday.
Odin's arrival came just weeks after Kitt and Carter were showered with gifts at a Game of Thrones-themed baby party.
"He just got off a tour, so I really wanted him to enjoy this next thing, which is to become a dad, and make it about him too and shower him with love and surprises," Kitt told the magazine.
On April 16, Kitt shared a photo of her cute baby bump on Instagram.
"Patiently waiting #40weeks #naturalbirth #homebirth #midwifery #birthwithoutfear," Kitt captioned the image.
That same day, Carter tweeted, "Baby watch continues. Thank you for all your prayers and warm wishes!"
Carter, 36, announced the baby's sex during an episode of Dancing with the Stars late last year.
"I'm taking a couple of well-needed months off to be with my wife and really cater to her in this time," he told People in November before heading out on a solo tour.
Carter also revealed the Backstreet Boys might have a Las Vegas residency coming up.
"We're doing a nine-show trial run," the "I Will Wait" singer said, adding that if all goes well and they end up nailing down a permanent schedule, Kitt and Odin will "absolutely" join him on the road.
