Jason Mesnick may have been rejected by The Bachelorette fourth-season star DeAnna Pappas, but he's still a true believer in the show's ability to spark a romantic connection and would consider starring in The Bachelor.

"I haven't been approached about it at all.  If they asked me, it's something I would consider," he told Reality TV World during a Tuesday conference call.

"You go into a process like this and you have no idea what to expect from it -- me being this regular single dad from Seattle, you have no idea.  But you can really find somebody in a show like that.  If they look for the right people [to cast], anything is possible."

The 31-year-old account executive from Kirkland, WA added he's unsure if his 3-year-old son Ty would be included in The Bachelor if he were to be approached about starring in the show.

"I haven't thought about that at all," he told Reality TV World.  "If they approach me, who knows what could happen."

Should Mesnick be chosen as the next The Bachelor star, he'd at least have two people pulling for him -- Pappas and her fiance Jesse Csincsak.

"Jesse and I are all about [Mesnick starring in The Bachelor]," Pappas told reporters during an earlier Tuesday conference call. 

"We are going to be friends with Jason forever.  He's a great guy, he wishes the best for us, and we definitely think that he would make a wonderful Bachelor.  We'll be there all the way, threatening the girls and telling them they better treat him right."

However Mesnick told reporters dating has been one of the last things on his mind since returning from filming The Bachelorette in May.

"I stepped away from being a dad for several weeks and I've been smothering and being smothered by my little boy.  So if there's any date it's just been with my little 3-year-old munchkin," he told reporters.  "I am in a place where I could start dating again, but to be honest, I don't even know how right now.  My focus is on getting back to work and just being a dad."

The Bachelor's thirteenth season is currently slated to air as part of ABC's 2008-2009 midseason primetime programming lineup, and Mesnick said he's in no rush to learn if he'll be in the driver's seat when it begins filming.

"Right now, I'm just back to my everyday life with Ty and that's perfect for me," he told Reality TV World.
