Tori & Dean: Inn Love, scheduled to air as six half-hour episodes, will follow Spelling and McDermott as they leave their lives in Tinsletown and head for the wine vineyards of Southern California to invest the former Beverly Hills 90210 starlet's $800,000 family inheritance into opening an eight-acre inn. "Not only is Tori incredibly popular with television audiences, she’s also constantly evolving personally and professionally, which makes for great television," says Deborah Beece, president of programming and marketing for Oxygen. "We love that Tori and Dean have a sense of humor about the new challenges in their lives and are willing to let their fans in on it with a wink and a smile in front of the camera."
In addition to appearing in 90210, Spelling has also starred in several movies, including Scream 2 and The House of Yes. She recently starred in and executive produced the VH1 scripted comedy series So NoTORIous, which was loosely based on her life. Her father, prolific television producer Aaron Spelling, passed away in June 2006, which is where she received the inheritance from that is used to purchase the California-based bed and breakfast in the series. McDermott is a well-traveled actor who has guest-starred in numerous television series, including NCIS and Due South. The couple met while filming Mind Over Murder, a made-for-TV movie that premiered in 2006.
Spelling and McDermott created Tori & Dean: Inn Love and executive produced it along with Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato of World of Wonder Productions (Show Biz Moms & Dads).
