American socialite Paris Hilton was briefly detained by French police in Corsica after they allegedly found marijuana in her purse, media reports said.

Hilton, 29, was released without charges shortly after police allegedly found less than a gram of marijuana in her possession, The Daily Telegraph and Us Weekly magazine reported Saturday.
The Corse-Matin newspaper said Hilton was disembarking from a private jet on the French island of Corsica and was scheduled to board a yacht heading to Porto Cervo in Sardinia, Italy, Us reported.
Hilton was arrested earlier this month in South Africa during the World Cup quarterfinal match between Brazil and the Netherlands, where her friend was found in possession of a marijuana cigarette.
Hilton was not charged, and her arrest was chalked up to a case of "mistaken identity."
