Pascal Ibgui made quite the first impression on Joan Vassos when The Golden Bachelorette premiered its first season on ABC.

Pascal is a 69-year-old salon owner from Chicago, IL.

When Pascal introduced himself to Joan on Night 1 of The Golden Bachelorette, Joan immediately noticed his thick French accent.
Pascal said he was "speechless" upon seeing the "attractive" and "elegant" Joan for the first time.

"I like a woman who knows how to present themselves," Pascal explained to the cameras.
And the feeling was mutual because Joan called him "very charming" and thought his accent was "very sexy."
At the cocktail party, Pascal told Joan how he appreciated her family values, and then he shared a letter his son had written him wishing his luck on his journey to find love.
"I've been wooed tonight by a Frenchman," Joan gushed with a smile. "Maybe there's some amour in our future."
While Pascal didn't receive Joan's First Impression Rose, he earned a rose at the first Rose Ceremony of The Golden Bachelorette season.
