Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio met his now six-month-old daughter Amabella for the first time earlier this month, and while he said the moment was "exciting and amazing," he admits he was initially scared she wouldn't even like him.

"I was nervous if she wasn't going to like me. I didn't know what to expect," the 33-year-old former Jersey Shore and The Pauly D Project star told Us Weekly.
"But the second I saw the baby, her eyes just lit up, it's almost like she knew. It was amazing... She came right over to me and put her arms right up to me. [She] grabbed my hair! That's the first thing she went for. And then she was biting my nose... It's almost like I knew what to do. I felt comfortable holding her. It was an exciting feeling [and] all the nervousness went away."
DelVecchio said there was no doubt in his mind Amabella, whom Las Vegas one-night stand Amanda Markert gave birth to on May 15, is his baby girl when he realized they look exactly alike.
"I knew she was mine right off the bat too because she looks just like me... She has the same big eyes. Same forehead, [and] same mouth," the deejay told Us.

DelVecchio's mother Donna DiCarlo DelVecchio reportedly also got to meet her granddaughter that day.
Although the gathering apparently went smoothly, DelVecchio and Markert had agreed upon a "temporary truce" for the occasion amidst an ongoing custody battle between the pair, whose personal problems have also been highly-publicized since news got out DelVecchio is a father, TMZ reported.
Late last month, Markert -- a VIP hostess and former Hooters waitress -- was allegedly spotted visiting a law office in Atlantic City. Meanwhile, DelVecchio reportedly didn't learn he has a daughter until October and has since been fighting for primary custody of Amabella claiming Markert is an unfit mother.
"That's what we're working out now. I'm going to see [Amabella] as much as I possibly can, but there's a process because of the way that everything happened," DelVecchio told Us of the custody proceedings.
"So it's in the lawyer's hands, but I just want to give the baby the best life possible. I want to see her as much as I possibly can. I travel a lot, but when I'm in Vegas I'm going to have a nursery there, when I'm in Rhode Island I'm going to have a nursery there [too]."

As for the holidays coming up, although the pair's arrangements have yet to be revealed, DelVecchio apparently can't wait to go Christmas shopping for his daughter.
"I got a ton of clothes. I'm big on sneakers so I got her a ton of Jordans already to match me. She's going to be a fresh little girl," he explained.
DelVecchio and Markert reportedly had unprotected sex in Fall 2012 after they met at a party at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino's Rehab club where DelVecchio was deejaying. When asked whether he'll quit having one-night stands since this particular case resulted in a surprise baby, DelVecchio admitted that won't happen.
"Uh no," DelVecchio told Us of stopping. "Protection!"
DelVecchio also said he's not ruling out the idea of having another baby some day, but he's definitely in no rush.

"One day, one day," the former Jersey Shore star added. "One at a time though I just had this one!"
