Paul is a 52-year-old boat mechanic and rocker from Sugarloaf Key, FL.

He will be playing on the Takali (Gen X) Tribe when the franchise's 33rd season premieres Wednesday, September 21 at 8PM ET/PT on CBS.

Although he may seem tough and rough on the outside, Paul said he's a big teddy bear who's definitely a people-person. In fact, he says it's tough to shut him up once he gets talking. When comparing himself to a former Survivor player, Paul would choose three-time castaway Ozzy Lusth because he has the "heart of a lion."

Below is a list of 7 facts Reality TV World has compiled about Paul Wachter:

- Paul is in a band and they often play 74 songs over the course of a four-hour set with no breaks.

- A family man, Paul and his wife sold their two businesses and their home, bought a motor home, pulled their three kids out of school, and decided to home-school them while traveling the world.

- He enjoys treasuring hunting with his children like a pirate as well as singing and spear fishing.

- When asked what it means to be a Gen-Xer, Paul said, "Someone who never received a participation award."

- The castaway's inspiration in life is David Lee Roth from Van Halen because he became "one of the best frontmen in the world," not to mention they share the same birthday.

- If Paul could choose any three items to take with him on the island, they'd be the propeller necklace his father gave him, thumb and pinky rings his wife gave him, and a bracelet with his children's names on it to keep him grounded.

- Paul describes himself as intimidating, methodical and confident. He wants to win the $1 million badly but also hopes to prove that people can do anything at any age.
