Anti-fur activists flour-bombed U.S. socialite Paris Hilton and designer Julien Macdonald following the opening show of London's Fashion Week.

Hilton and Macdonald were en route to a party celebrating Hilton's London catwalk debut Tuesday night when they were showered with flour by members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, in a fur protest, the BBC reported Wednesday.

"There is nothing remotely fashionable about the torture and death of animals killed for fur," Yvonne Taylor of PETA Europe told the BBC.

Neither Hilton or Macdonald commented on the incident.

About 170 designers are participating in London Fashion Week, which runs through Saturday at the Natural History Museum.
