Peter Weber has revealed a private backstage conversation with Hannah Brown at The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose left him ready to turn down The Bachelor gig for another shot with her -- but then Hannah suddenly asked out Tyler Cameron, with whom she had already been exchanging direct messages.

Peter started out by saying he had been prepared to give Hannah another chance and say no to doing The Bachelor when they saw each other on Part 1 of The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose following his third-place elimination in Crete.
"In our talk [on The Bachelor group date], I call her out [for pulling at my heartstrings] because at [After the Final Rose], I was prepared to give it a shot, and I knew there was a chance I was going to be the Bachelor, and I was going to say no to the show," Peter admitted on the podcast.
Peter said he and Hannah had made plans backstage at After the Final Rose Part 1 to meet up since she was now living 20 minutes away from him in California.
Peter apparently got his hopes up, thinking maybe things weren't over between them after all.
"I called her out [on The Bachelor] because at AFR, when I saw her for the first time after [my elimination], we had just a brief saying goodbye to each other off-camera. We just caught up and she said she actually moved out to close to where I was living," Peter shared.
"And I was like, 'No way! Yeah, let's meet up.' And we agreed. I honestly got excited at that point. I was like, 'You know what? Maybe this isn't over yet!' I had felt some chemistry with her onstage, to be completely honest."
But then Peter watched Part 2 of After the Final Rose the next day, and the live episode featured Hannah turning around and asking out her The Bachelorette runner-up, Tyler, for drinks.

(Hannah dumped her winner Jed Wyatt five weeks after accepting his marriage proposal, and so Hannah was already single again during The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose).
"I remember my family and I flew out to New York... just for a vacation... And that next night, I remember watching the second episode of AFR with [Hannah] and Tyler, and she asked Tyler out," Peter recalled.

"I was like, 'What the hell?' And so right there, I was like, 'Done. I'm over it. I'm moving on.' Because it hurt, like, I was not expecting that."
Referring back to his conversation with Hannah on his The Bachelor group date, Peter continued, "And so I called her out on that, and I was like, 'Why the hell did you do that?' And so then everything just kind of came out."
"And to answer your question, yeah, it obviously broke my heart to see her in that way. I didn't know she still felt that way for me, to be completely honest."
Peter then revealed, "And I wasn't DMing her like apparently she said her and Tyler were DMing that summer."
Rachel asked Peter to explain what the emotion was behind Hannah's tears at their reunion.
"She just was pretty much expressing to me that obviously she had been through a very difficult time obviously with how her relationship ended with Jed and just how difficult being in that position is. And now I've seen it going through a whole season," Peter explained.

"It's insanely difficult, as both of you [former The Bachelorette stars] know," he told Rachel and Becca.

Rachel asked Peter to confirm whether Hannah said she had made the wrong decision in choosing Jed as her winner or asking Tyler out when she was single again.
"She explained to me the whole Tyler thing was apparently [because] they had been DMing and talking a little bit, and I had just never reached out to her. I was waiting to see her at AFR, and that was the first time," Peter shared.
Rachel pointed out Peter was just trying to follow The Bachelor franchise's rules regarding communicating with the show's leads, suggesting Tyler had not.
"I mean, yeah! That's what I did," Peter noted.
"But again, I know she had something really real with Tyler as well, and so I can't get mad at her for pursuing a relationship there. The part that pissed me off and hurt me was we had talked about -- and maybe I shouldn't have gotten excited about..."
"No, you should have gotten excited," Rachel noted. "It makes all the sense in the world that you would get excited over that. Honestly, it does. I would have too."
Peter and Hannah's emotional conversation on The Bachelor left Peter feeling confused about how he should proceed on the show. Seeing Hannah again brought back old feelings, and it was clear Hannah still had lingering feelings for the pilot.
A part of Peter even wished Hannah would join his lineup of bachelorettes and compete for his heart this time around.
"I can't help how my heart feels. I look at her and I just don't want to stop looking at her and I want to just kiss her and just have had all this work out. And it didn't. And I know it didn't," Peter explained to cameras after talking to Hannah.
"I just feel like such a jerk because I have such awesome girls here expecting to meet someone that was truly ready to have this work for them as well. And -- I don't know."
Monday night's The Bachelor episode ended on a cliffhanger, so Peter and Hannah's conversation will resume in next week's broadcast and viewers will hopefully have more answers about the future of their relationship.
