Project Runway's production company appears to have beat Lifetime to punch on announcing an exact premiere date for the show's sixth season.

"It will be on Lifetime [on] August 15," Harvey Weinstein, the CEO of Project Runway's The Weinstein Company production company, said during a Friday interview on American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show.
"We shot these episodes in Los Angeles so we could take advantage of the entertainment industry... There's a lot of red carpet challenges. I think it's the same edgy, fantastic fun that people expect from Project Runway."
Last week, Bravo's NBC Universal parent company, The Weinstein Company, and Lifetime Networks announced that the legal dispute surrounding the rights to the reality series had been resolved. However despite the settlement, Lifetime didn't announce an exact premiere date for the show and only stated that it will premiere sometime this summer.
The announcement came almost a year after Lifetime Networks and The Weinstein Company announced a five-year, 10-cycle deal to bring Project Runway to Lifetime from Bravo beginning with the reality series' sixth season.

Weinstein joked to Seacrest about how the long legal saga surrounding the show was eventually resolved.
"We couldn't figure out a way to solve this with all these high-priced lawyers. Then [NBC entertainment programming chief] Ben Silverman said, 'Why don't Harvey and I arm wrestle this naked?'" Weinstein told Seacrest.
"[NBCU president] Jeff Zucker was there and the Lifetime people were there, and it went back and forth, back and forth. It became a tie, and as a result of that tie with Ben, Jeff Zucker said, 'Okay, let's give Lifetime the show and we'll take some money from Harvey.'"
During the appearance on Seacrest's show, Weinstein also discussed Models of the Runway -- the new Project Runway spin-off that will provide viewers a look at the reality series through the eyes of the models who participate in it.
"We're going to see lots of fun with the models. We've never seen that, the behind-the-scenes with the models," said Weinstein. "That show is a half-an-hour long and it's a compliment to Runway."
