Rachel Lindsay obviously didn't win Nick Viall's heart since she's the next Bachelorette, so she's giving The Bachelor viewers a little insight into why the relationship didn't work out.

"I was definitely heartbroken over the situation," added the 31-year-old Dallas attorney of her breakup with Viall, 36. "I didn't expect it. I didn't think it would end that way for me."
In the upcoming February 20 episode, Viall will be introduced to Lindsay's family, including her father who is a federal judge. It has yet to be confirmed how much further Lindsay goes into the process after that, with Fantasy Suites and the Final Rose Ceremony still ahead.
But whether her elimination was sooner or later, Lindsay was pretty torn up over it.
"I didn't necessarily doubt what we had, I still thought that I could be the one in the end," Lindsay admitted.
The Season 13 The Bachelorette star never expected to fall so hard for Viall, a former software salesman.
"I'm somebody who can feel a connection from the beginning, but in this process I was pretty skeptical," she explained to People.
"So I did [not] think that I would feel that with Nick. I was really shocked from our first meeting, I was like, 'Hey there's something about this guy. I'm surprised. I like him.' I could feel the energy between us."
Lindsay memorably received Viall's First Impression Rose and their chemistry never seemed to falter, however, Lindsay was forced to move on once Viall let her go.
"Time heals all. Since then, I've been able to get back into work and be with family and friends, I've moved on from it. My biggest thing is, I just want Nick to be happy. If he's found that with someone else, then that makes me happy too," the bachelorette said.
