Rachel's unexpected and blunt announcement has had the world wondering whether she made a mistake and gave too much away while promoting The Bachelorette's new season, which just debuted Monday, May 22.
"Congratulations. You announced that you are engaged to be married," Jimmy Kimmel told Rachel on Monday night's Jimmy Kimmel Live! episode.
"I am," the Bachelorette beauty noted.
"You announced this before the first episode even aired," Jimmy said. "Are you engaged to someone on the show or is this a completely separate thing?"
"Good question," Rachel replied with a laugh. "Someone on the show."
"Fascinating," he said.
"Yes," Rachel noted.
"Has anyone ever announced this before the show started?" Jimmy asked.
"No, no. But we joke and say this is a season of firsts, and I think they were like, 'You know what? You're so excited, you're glowing. Just do it,'" Rachel said of the show's producers.
"You think so? Or did something happen where you were forced to reveal it because it was going to get out somehow?" Jimmy questioned.
Jimmy changed the subject before Rachel could answer that question, but the new Bachelorette did disclose the fact she hasn't seen her fiance since the proposal filmed in Spain 10 days ago.

"That was the last time [I saw him]," Rachel revealed. "We had a couple of days together [after the engagement], and then we went our separate ways."
Jimmy then cracked a joke that he's surprised Rachel and her man haven't had time to reconnect, break up and then appear on the cover of magazines.
"I don't plan on a breakup," insisted Rachel, who already shared the name of her fiance and future husband with her parents and sister.
Also during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Rachel said she will be returning to her job as a civil defense attorney in no time.
Rachel explained everyone at work in Dallas, TX, has been "so supportive" of her journey on Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor as well as The Bachelorette.
"My boss literally said, 'You know what? Go, Rachel! Go out there and find love.' And I said, 'Thanks, I will!' But he also said, 'You better come back,'" Rachel told Jimmy. "[I go back] next week."
