The Real Housewives of New York City star, who has been married to Mario for over two decades, kicked him out of their shared home late last month and subsequently announced they've officially split on Twitter August 7. Ramona's breakup announcement followed months of rumors Mario, 60, was having an on-again, off-again affair with 32-year-old Kasey Dexter.
Ramona had separated from Mario previously in January but reportedly reconciled with him after he begged for forgiveness and insisted he'd change. Despite nearly four months of undergoing therapy sessions, the final straw for Ramona was when Mario was photographed with Kasey in public again this summer, Us Weekly reported.
"I told Mario it's over because he lied to me about still being in contact with this Kasey. I said, 'You are a liar. You are a betrayer. I don't want you in my life anymore. I tried to make it work for a year and that's it. I'm done,'" Ramona told People.
"There were problems in our relationship, but nothing bad enough for him to cheat. So we were working on it. And then I just realized, no, that's... a lack of respect to me and my daughter," Ramona also told Us earlier this week, adding that she would never take Mario back again.
"I married a traditional man, a God-fearing man -- high morals, high scruples, believes in family and tradition. This man today is not the man I married."
Mario reportedly first began seeing Kasey in Summer 2013. According to The New York Post, Mario had gotten the blonde socialite pregnant last year and then paid for her to have an abortion.
Ramona has starred on The Real Housewives of New York City since the series premiered in 2008. The series just aired its sixth-season finale in late July on Bravo.
