Jackson shed 150 pounds in 2003 with the aid of gastric bypass surgery.
However he announced earlier this year that he has Type II diabetes, meaning that staying in shape via physical fitness and eating correctly is still a top priority in his hectic life. He'll pass on his personal tips in his new book.
The guide to living healthier isn't Jackson's first work as an author.
The 51-year-old previously penned "What's Up Dawg?: How to Become a Superstar in the Music Business," in which he explains the ins and outs of the music industry. It was released in January 2004.
Jackson is currently participating in Idol eighth-season auditions, which commenced today in San Francisco.
