Randy Jackson has launched a new record label and didn't have to look too far to ink his first artist.

The American Idol judge and America's Best Dance Crew producer has announced he has started DreamMerchant21, a dance-music label, and signed former second-season finalist Kimberly Locke.

"I feel compelled with the music that I am hearing in 2010 to start this kind of label," said Jackson. "I want to make a difference within this genre and bring good energy and great music to all!"

Locke's April release "Strobelight" is the first song to be released by the new label and it was produced by deejays Tony Moran and Warren Rigg.

"We are proud to know that such a gifted artist whose star is rising higher can share that star with us on the dance floor!" said Moran.

"There is no better way to get intimate with an artist than to hear that artist bare, without music for a moment to carry her message through melody, soul, and effort."

Locke finished third behind Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard on American Idol's second season in 2003.  She also appeared on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club in 2007.
