Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?'s primetime host Jeff Foxworthy is expected to also sign on as host of the syndicated version, sources told Broadcasting & Cable.
Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? premiered on Fox in February 2007 and in each episode, a group of grown-ups find themselves in a classroom setting dealing with subjects they've already learned, from art and arithmetic to science and social studies.
Questions the adults are tested on are "taken from actual textbooks" geared towards first- through fifth-grade students. But just as in grade-school, the grown-ups on the Fox series have the chance to cheat by getting some help from actual elementary-aged students, who offer what they think is the correct answer.
New Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? episodes are currently slated to debut Friday, September 5 at 8PM ET/PT on Fox.
