Constantine Maroulis has received rave reviews for his role in Broadway's Rock of Ages musical, and now the former American Idol fourth-season finalist is reportedly undertaking another acting gig -- as Tinsley Mortimer's love interest on her new The CW reality series.

The CW ordered the tentatively-titled Empire State docu-reality series in September, and it will follow Tinsley and other members of New York City's young and wealthy socialite scene.
However filming quickly ran into a problem when some of her friends were reportedly hesitant to appear in it, and even those who still decided to be on the show are apparently having regrets.
"The families of the real characters on the show are worried it will be embarrassing because the story lines are created," the source told Fox News.
"Empire State is 'staged reality' and Constantine's agents and managers would prefer he focus solely on the Broadway stage and other more respectable projects."
While representatives for both The CW and Maroulis were not immediately available for comment when contacted by Fox News, the source claimed that the former Idol finalist "signed up to date" Mortimer on the show.
"He was into it, thought she was cute, and [thought] he'd have some fun doing it," the source told Fox News.
"He's just building up different projects, and since this one is in New York about the life of New Yorkers, he thought he would get involved."
In addition, the source attributes the fake romance as to why the 34-year-old Maroulis and 33-year-old Mortimer have recently been spotted canoodling in the Big Apple.
"They went out a couple of times and they spent a little pre-holiday time together," the source told Fox News.
"Constantine invited Tinsley to see Rock of Ages. It's a great advertisement for the show and for New York, two things he loves. She's hot and he got to kiss her and canoodle a bit -- it wasn't a hardship.
Empire State is currently slated to debut early next year.
