The 8-year-old daughter of "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin may be among those to speak this week at the TV star's memorial service in Australia.

The Brisbane Courier-Mail reported Bindi Irwin may make a public tribute to her famous father at Wednesday's ceremony at Beerwah's Australia Zoo, but to date the memorial has not been tethered to a strict schedule.

"We'll just roll without anything pre-empting it," said Irwin's business manager and friend John Stainton of the event at Irwin's Crocoseum.

The popular animal personality died Sept. 4 after his heart was pierced by a stingray's barb off the Great Barrier Reef.

The newspaper said among the 5,500 people expected to attend the hourlong ceremony are Australian Prime Minister John Howard, Queensland Premier Peter Beattie and Irwin's widow Terri, whose grief may stop her from making her first public comments over her husband's death.
