It apparently didn't take too long for Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox to sign record deals.

Dewyze, the American Idol ninth-season champ, has inked a recording contract with 19 Recordings Limited and RCA Records, while Bowersox, the ninth-season runner-up, has signed with 19 Recordings Limited and Jive Records, Billboard reported Thursday.

The signings represent a reversal from American Idol's eighth season, when winner Kris Allen signed with 19 Recordings/Jive Records and runner-up Adam Lambert inked a deal with 19 Recordings/RCA Records.

The American Idol winner and runner-up traditionally have their debut albums released around Thanksgiving -- just in time for pre-holiday sales.

Dewyze's first single -- a cover of U2's "Beautiful Day -- and Bowersox's rendition of Patty Griffin's "Up to the Mountain" were released on iTunes and radio on Thursday.
