Paula Abdul's "unrealistic" demands are apparently one of the main reasons why she's yet to land a new job.

The specific and expensive "needs" Abdul has argued for have reportedly included everything from office and dressing-room decoration to a large entourage of publicists, hair stylists and makeup artists who would be available to her even when taping isn't occurring.
"The added costs are scaring producers," a Star Search source told the Sun-Times.
In addition, a The X Factor source told the Sun-Times that Abdul's wardrobe allowance "would cost more than what most shows provide an entire cast, like on Desperate Housewives."
In April, ABC reportedly made a "rich offer" to Abdul for her to serve as a host and judge on an upcoming Star Search revival. However she reportedly rejected the offer, much to the surprise of ABC.
There's also been much speculation about a possible reunion between Abdul and Simon Cowell, who will leave American Idol this May after inking a deal to launch an American edition of his British The X Factor reality competition series on Fox in Fall 2011.
Both Cowell and Abdul have repeatedly played coy when asked about her possible involvement with The X Factor.
