Pattinson, 31, made it through the audition phase of the contest and into the judge's home for further mentoring, but her musical dreams were put on hold after judge and series creator Simon Cowell sent her home over the weekend.

She has been keeping her fans updates via Twitter where she announced plans to continue working on her music career.

"Thanks for your lovely messages. I had laringytus at judges' houses, but did the best I could...the show must go on! Best time ever," wrote on Twitter next to a link to her Facebook account.

"Thanks so much for the messages of support over the last few months," read another statement on Facebook. "Wow! It has been an amazing experience - challenging and scary, but mostly great fun! Looking forward to bringing you some new songs soon."

The "Twilight" star gushed about his sister's progress in the competition in August, telling British magazine Grazia he was "ridiculously proud of her."

"I would never have the balls to do that, ever, in a million years," he admitted. "I can't believe she's done it. So, it's amazing."

According to the magazine, Pattinson has been singing for the past 10 years and was featured on the "Twilight" soundtrack in a track called "Who Are They."
