"He's in a lot of pain and is expected to remain there for several days."
Added the representative, "It's a very painful condition, but he's being treated."
Ortiz-Magro is still apparently dating Jersey Shore co-star and on-again, off-again girlfriend Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, 26, who reportedly visited her man in the hospital on Sunday.
Ortiz-Magro "started feeling uncomfortable" on Saturday when he was promoting his new "Smush Cocktails" alcohol line at the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America Convention, according to People.
The reality TV star and Giancola had moved in together in September 2012.
"We're sharing a condo in New York City," Ortiz-Magro told Us Weekly at the time. "I got Sammi out of Jersey. We've lived in the worst circumstances, so now it will be better."
