Meanwhile, initial American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson's "Low" slipped back to third place after two straight weeks in second behind Ryan. The only two other Idol-related songs in the Top 25 were American Juniors' "One Step Closer" at #21 in its 11th week and Clay Aiken's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" at #24 in its 21st week.
Also, Ryan's performance on the Fox/CTV "American Idol Christmas" special was confirmed by the Canadian Idol website, which reports that Ryan will perform "Let It Snow" during the show. The song also will appear on the Canadian versions of the CD American Idol: The Great Holiday Classics, which was released last week by BMG Canada.
Next week may bring Ryan new Idol-ized competition, as Audrey de Montigny, who finished fourth on Canadian Idol, released her debut ViK. single (in French), "Meme les Anges," on November 4 -- a week earlier than expected -- and she appeared both on AM Canada and at the Montreal Alouettes game this week to promote it. We'll soon know a lot about the regional appeal of Canadian Idol...
