Sasha Farber has revealed the planning that went into his marriage proposal to Emma Slater live on Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night and why he was tense and stressed leading up to that big moment.

"I was a little bit nervous when we were doing the dance, thinking that [the ring] would fall out of my pocket, thinking, This could go horribly wrong," Farber told Us Weekly.
Farber, 33, popped the question to Slater, his 27-year-old girlfriend of five years, onstage after the couple -- who are both pro partners on Dancing with the Stars -- performed to their song "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars.
"He danced the whole dance with this [ring] in his pocket, and turns out lots of people in production knew and I didn't know at all and they must have kept it a really good secret," Slater told Us.
"Wardrobe had to sew a pocket in his outfit and then I was wondering why I had a microphone. I was like, 'I'm not going to talk. Why are they giving me a microphone?' And they said, 'Oh, [DWTS host Tom Bergeron]'s going to ask you a question.' And I said, 'Oh, yeah, okay.'"

Farber explained he was very secretive when trying to work out all the details with Dancing with the Stars production and staff.
"We were trying to plan all of this quietly when Emma was walking around and everyone was walking around. Not many people knew; Only specific people knew. And the second we started planning it, it was like my heart was beating so, so fast," Farber told ABC News in a separate interview.
"I never thought that I would do it on the show, and then I felt like this would be perfect because, you know, her parents are away in England and my parents are in Australia. Our families are kind of all over the world, and they'll get to see this and it will be so special."
Farber said despite his initial worries, the engagement turned out nearly perfect -- except for the fact he had planned to say more to Slater before putting the engagement ring on her finger.
"It was just such a special moment. Everything just felt like it was perfect. I was really, really scared for it all to happen because we had to do the dance, I had the ring in my pocket, and I had so much that I wanted to say and express and tell her," Farber explained.

"And I actually did not say, like, one word of it. I said two words and that's about it."
Farber, who told Us that he knew Slater was "the one" for him three or four months after they met, is excited the engagement was filmed for TV.
"I'm sure we're going to look back on this years to come, sitting with our children and watching, like, 'Look, this is how it all started!'" Farber gushed.
Farber and Slater were close friends for two years before getting romantically involved. They recently bought a house together in Los Angeles.
