The Sci Fi Channel has announced production on the tentatively-titled Derren Brown Project, a reality series the will feature the popular British mentalist picking part and playing with the thoughts of everyday people.

Derren Brown Project, which will consist of six one-hour episodes, will follow the 36-year-old mentalist as he combines "suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship" to wow viewers.  While he apparently is skeptical of paranormal phenomena and doesn't claim to be a mind reader, Sci Fi suggests he can "seemingly predict and control human behavior."

Brown has appeared in several specials on the U.K.'s Channel 4 since 2000 -- including one where he gets people to play a game of Russian roulette -- which Sci Fi said led to their decision to bring him across the Atlantic.

Andrew O'Conner and Michael Vine will executive produce Derren Brown Project for Objective Productions.
