The former Charles in Charge star and teen heartthrob proposed to his girlfriend -- former Playboy model Renee Sloane -- during the broadcast of Scott Baio is 45... And Single's first-season finale and after she accepted his proposal, Sloane told Baio she's pregnant with his first child.
"It's just like that great Rolling Stones song, you don't get what you want, you get what you need. I needed to have a girl," Baio told People. "It may be cosmic payback a little bit, but it needed to happen."
The "cosmic payback" Baio is referring to stems from his previous romantic relationships with former Baywatch actresses Pamela Anderson, Erika Eleniak and Nicole Eggert; Desperate Housewives actress Nicolette Sheridan; and actresses Brooke Shields, Denise Richards, and Heather Locklear (among others).
None of those relationships panned out and led Baio to star in VH1's Scott Baio is 45... And Single, the first season of which followed him over the course of eight weeks as he spent time with life coach Dr. Alison "Doc Ali" Arnold, attempting to right the wrongs of his romantic past.
"I am 100% not worried about him," Sloane told People about her fiancee. "I would rather be with a guy who has sowed all of his wild oats with a lot of people and know that he is ready. He has been there and done that, and this man is ready for a different chapter in a whole entirely different book."
The couple is expecting their daughter's arrival in December, and despite initially being disappointed by the baby's sex, Baio is already gushing like a proud papa.
"We just went to get the 4-D imaging this week, and I saw her for the first time," he told People. "She is a girl and she has my head! I got pissed off about it because I have seen myself in drag for television and I am an ugly woman. Why couldn't she have my wife's head? She's beautiful!"
VH1 previously announced it has renewed Scott Baio is 45... And Single for a second season.
