Sean Hiler was 47 and from Springfield, OH, when he met Abby St. Germain, a 20-year-old from Haiti on an online dating website.
She messaged him first, and although she was a bit young for him, Sean asked for her number and they started video chatting.
Sean eventually visited Abby in Haiti but became jealous and suspicious of her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Chris, which caused a lot of drama during their stint on the 90 Day Fiance spinoff.
The season ended with Sean getting down on one knee and proposing marriage to Abby. They were still happily engaged by the time of the Season 1 Tell-All special, but things fell apart the following year.
In March 2018, Abby and Sean split and Sean took to social media to announce they had called off their engagement.
Sean said Abby dumped him because she allegedly got tired of being harassed by 90 Day Fiance fans.
Sean also accused TLC of giving Abby a negative portrayal on the show that didn't accurately depict her character and personality.
Abby quickly moved on with a new man and faced backlash. Abby told fans, however, Sean hesitated to move to the Dominican Republic while she was finishing college.
In early 2019, Abby got engaged to a British man named Louis Dubell, and in December 2019 she announced her U.K. visa had been approved.
"Hey Guys! I really wanted to keep things private, but I thought since I let you know we were applying for the Family of a settled person Visa (Known as the UK fiance Visa) that you should know that my Visa is APPROVED!!" she announced on social media.
"I'm moving to the UK to be with The man I love. I'm really excited for this new beginning."
In March 2020, Abby married Louis in the United Kingdom.
"I said I do to my best friend," she captioned an Instagram gallery of wedding photos.
"I'm very blessed to have Louis in my life. I'm so thankful to him for having given me a chance when probably nobody else would because of my past mistakes."
"His love is truly unconditional," she continued.
"He makes me feel loved every single day. He talks about his feeling. He laughs with me not at me. He defends me. He makes me feel safe in every way. I love him so very much and I'll show him every single day."
