The Pussycat Dolls' litter box is apparently too full to accommodate another member, so the second season of The CW's Pussycat Dolls Present will reportedly aim to create an entirely new all-female dance troupe/singing group.

"This is definitely not The Search for the Next Doll.  So we're not putting another girl into the Pussycat Dolls... Everyone asks that," the group's founder Robin Antin told NBC's Boston affiliate WHDH-TV during a Thursday interview.  "Now we're creating a new group."

The first edition of the reality competition series aired in the spring on The CW and was titled Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll.  It featured nine females who competed through their dance moves and vocal abilities to become the seventh member of the Pussycat Dolls, with Asia Nitollano, an 18-year-old former New York Knicks dancer from Mt. Vernon, NY, crowned its winner during the finale.

Although The CW had announced that a second season of Pussycat Dolls Present would air as part of the network's 2007-2008 midseason programming lineup back in May, the season's format had remained unannounced.  However Antin told the Friday Boston Herald that instead of adding another to the currently configured Pussycat Dolls, the show's second season will follow the search for an all-new, all-girl trio tentatively named "Girlicious."

"I'm basically looking to do in 10 episodes what it took me 12 years to do with the Pussycat Dolls," Antin told the Herald.  "Compared with last season, we'll be ending with more girls, so we'll definitely be starting with more girls, too."

Antin founded the Dolls in 1993 and over time, it grew into a formal burlesque-style show with the group eventually securing residency at Los Angeles nightclub The Viper Room, where they performed from 1995 to 2001 and occasionally included celebrities like Gwen Stefani, Charlize Theron, Carmen Electra, Brittany Murphy, Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson as guest performers.  By 2002, the Dolls began being featured in magazines, television specials, ad campaigns and movies.  After a few members left and a few more joined on, the Dolls debut album "PCD" was released in 2005 and produced seven singles, including "Don't Cha," the group's first big hit.

According to Pussycat Dolls Present's page on The CW's website, the new group Antin is forming is "inspired" by the Dolls.  Open casting calls for Pussycat Dolls Present's second season have already occurred in Miami, Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles, Houston and Boston.  Mail in applications are also being accepted with more information available on The CW's website.
