Serena's family helped the bachelorette come to the conclusion that she simply wasn't smitten with The Bachelor star and certainly wasn't ready to get engaged to Matt at the Final Rose Ceremony.

Serena simply had too many doubts and fears after her hometown date.

While she couldn't pinpoint what was missing in her relationship with Matt, Serena said she had a gut feeling things weren't right. Matt, on the other hand, had fallen for Serena and envisioned the two of them living out their dreams and aspirations together.

Serena explained to Matt, "I'm just not there and I don't know why. Trust me when I say I've thought about it so much and I've just been emotionally torn-up over it."

Serena's decision to quit the show left Matt reeling and afraid of leaving the process with a broken heart, but based on a preview of The Women Tell All, it appears Serena may have regrets!

Until viewers can watch Matt and Serena come face to face on The Women Tell All, let's learn some things about The Bachelor bachelorette right now and get to know her better.

Serena P. expanded her horizons beyond communication and business studies

Serena also minored in Psychology and completed a specialization in Digital & Cultural Theory.

After graduating Wilfrid Laurier University, Serena received her postgraduate certificate in Sport and Event Marketing.

Chris Harrison teases great things come in small packages

The Bachelor host Chris Harrison raved about Serena P. when announcing Matt's cast of bachelorettes earlier this year.

"From Toronto, Ontario... We have a handful of very small and petite girls on this show, but this girl is tiny. I mean, tiny, which means she is very small," Chris said.

"She may be small, but Serena P. is a force to be reckoned with on the show. [She has] great chemistry with Matt. They had it from the moment she stepped out of the limo. They just have this chemistry. They have this thing."

Chris added, "The thing with Serena... and this is very interesting -- she's always honest. She always tells everybody, including Matt, where she stands, how she feels, and what the score is."

The Bachelor bachelorette used to teach swimming lessons

Serena was a swimming instructor at Superfin Aquatics in Markham, Ontario for two years and four months beginning in 2017. She taught swimming classes to kids, teens and adults.

Not only is she certified as a swim instructor and lifesaving instructor, but she's also a licensed emergency first-aid instructor.

The bachelorette does not consider herself a casual dater

Serena has only been in one serious relationship prior to appearing on The Bachelor. She thought that man was going to be The One but she said she was wrong.

Serena admitted she was "deeply in love" with her ex and felt "so sure" about their relationship but she ended up being wrong and heartbroken.

Serena said the breakup was "one of the lowest points of [her] life" because it was sad and painful -- although the correct decision for her at the time -- and it left her hesitant to trust her own feelings.

Serena is all about having fun, even if the outing is low key

Serena is looking for a man to spend quality time with, whether they enjoy beers at a bar or sit courtside at a Toronto Raptors' game.

Serena wants to grow with her partner and says she needs a man with ambition who will be her teammate in life.

Serena was a member of the Wilfrid Laurier University Competitive Dance Team.

She also used her dance skills to make some money! Serena taught dance classes part-time at Vlad's Dance Company for children ages 3-9 from 2014-2015.

Serena P. is always hungry and wants a pet chicken

Serena says she is "chronically hangry" and demands that any boyfriend she has allows her to try their food.

"If they don't let me taste their food, I don't know if the relationship could survive," Serena has said.

While Serena probably eats chicken, she'd like to have a pet chicken too and an endless supply of eggs all in one.

Serena says she finally feels ready for a husband

The bachelorette says she always led a disciplined life and never really took the time to pursue true love, until The Bachelor.

Serena, typically a logical thinker, decided to throw out her rulebook in order to hopefully meet the man of her dreams in Matt. She believes "when you know, you know," and that true love is real!

The bachelorette isn't afraid to get her hands dirty!

Learning how to change a tire is at the top of Serena's bucket list.
