American Idol judge Simon Cowell and Extra correspondent Terri Seymour are setting the record straight: Cowell didn't give Seymour $9 million prior to their breakup.

"Did you give me 5 million pounds in cash?" Seymour asked Cowell during an interview that was released by Extra on Monday.
"That is actually not a true story. If anything, I should be getting the money," Cowell responded jokingly. "Rumors come around, people just read things, and then they create a story. But no, there was no 5 million pounds."
Reports had surfaced after the couple's breakup claming that, prior to their split, Cowell had reportedly handed out $5 million to Seymour along with an additional $4.6 million for her to buy a house in Beverly Hills.
When asked why his six-year-relationship with Seymour had come to an end, Cowell responded in his typically blunt fashion.

"Because Terri decided to dump me," he said as he looked over at a surprised Seymour. "You sent me a text."
"I didn't dump you!" responded Seymour. "Just time -- we had a great six years and we're the best of friends."
Cowell was also very straightforward when asked to reveal Seymour's worst habit.
"The lateness was an issue," Cowell told Extra. "Teri actually held the record from starting to get ready to arriving at a venue which was 20 minutes away... Seven hours."
"That's a lie!" responded Seymour. "Seven hours?"

"Yeah," Cowell said.
Seymour said that Cowell's worst habit was his smoking.
However, despite their disagreements, Cowell and Seymour both told Extra that they had remained in close contact with each other and still talk every day.
"I do call Terri first, when I've got an issue or I'm moaning about something, or I want to bounce an idea off," Simon said.
"We do speak more now on the phone all the time. It's true," added Seymour.

Cowell was more than willing to admit that Seymour was the "true romantic" of the two, which Seymour agreed with.
"I'm not arguing with him over that one," she replied with a laugh. "You came home from the dentist and you bought me a toothbrush. I thought that was very romantic and very sweet."
"It could be a movie couldn't it?" Cowell responded dryly. "Sleepless in Seattle, I bought you a toothbrush."
