Simone Battle's death has been ruled a suicide.

Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner of Los Angeles County, told CNN Monday that Battle's boyfriend found her hanging in the bedroom closet inside their shared West Hollywood apartment on Friday evening.
Battle made it to the Top 17 finalists on The X Factor and had been one of five finalists mentored by Simon Cowell in his "Girls Under 30" category. However, Cowell eliminated Battle and fellow finalist Tiah Tolliver during a live performance show in which each of the show's four judges were required to narrow their category to only three finalists.
Afterward, Battle had joined G.R.L., an all-girl group formed by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin.
The G.R.L. Twitter account posted Saturday, "Words cannot express the depth of our loss. Simone's incredible talent was only surpassed by the size of her heart. We will carry her memory with us in everything we do."
The group collaborated with Pitbull this year on the hit song "Wild Wild Love."
"My heart and prayers go out to @GRLSimone: @grl and her family. RIP Dios la bendiga," Pitbull tweeted Saturday.
