So You Think You Can Dance eliminated Cole Horibe and Witney Carson and determined the ninth season's Top 4 contestants during Wednesday night's live show on Fox.

Cole and Witney were eliminated after they were the male and female finalists respectively who received the fewest home viewer votes cast immediately following last week's show, which had featured the season's Top 8 finalists each performing a solo dance and a routine with an all-star partner and concluded with the ouster of two dancers.
"Being on the show has been amazing. I think I've grown not only as a dancer but as a person. What I hope America gets from my dancing is that I am a fighter and I will always fight to be the best that I can be," Witney, an 18-year-old Latin ballroom dancer from American Fork, UT, said following her ouster.
"I dance because it's just a great escape. I'm free to express myself. I hope I've shown America that you don't know what you're capable of until you try," Cole, a 26-year-old martial arts fusion dancer from Honolulu, HI, explained.
Eliana Girard, a 21-year-old contemporary ballet dancer from West Palm Beach, FL, and Cyrus Spencer, a 22-year-old animation/robotics dancer from Duluth, GA, were the other two finalists still in danger of elimination prior to Witney and Cole's ouster. However, So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley noted they were not necessarily the next-lowest vote-getters from last Wednesday night's performance show.

Witney's elimination determined Eliana and Tiffany Maher, a 19-year-old jazz dancer from Plantation, FL, will be the Top 2 female finalists going into next week's So You Think You Can Dance finale.
Cole's departure also left Cyrus and Chehon Wespi-Tschopp, a 23-year-old ballet dancer from Zurich, Switzerland, as the last two guys standing.
Wednesday night's broadcast featured the Top 6 finalists performing with their all-star partners and dancing their own solos for So You Think You Can Dance judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy and returning guest judge Christina Applegate. In addition, each remaining contestant performed a third routine with a fellow So You Think You Can Dance finalist.
So You Think You Can Dance's next ninth-season episode will air on Tuesday, September 11 at 8PM ET/PT and feature the Top 4 finalists competing to be named America's Top 2 dancers during the competition's finale, which will air Tuesday, September 18 at 8PM ET/PT.
Unlike prior seasons, So You Think You Can Dance's ninth season will crown both a female and a male champion.
