In addition, Jade Zuberi, a 21-year-old animation dancer from Dearborn Heights, MI, was forced to withdraw from the reality dancing competition due to a leg injury which will require surgery and at least two months recovery time. While Jade had to quit So You Think You Can Dance for his torn muscle, he also landed in the bottom six for the second time in a row.
"BluPrint," a 20-year-old animation dancer from Atlanta, GA; Jenna Johnson, a 19-year-old ballroom dancer from Salt Lake City, UT; Curtis Holland, a 19-year-old tap dancer from Miami, FL; and Alexis Juliano, an 18-year-old tap dancer from Coral Springs, FL, were the other four bottom-six vote-getting dancers still in danger of elimination prior to Jasmine M.'s ouster.
The three men, however, were automatically given a second chance because of Jade's departure. As for the three women, the judges asked them all to "dance for their lives."
The judges were required to eliminate one female competitor last night based on their quick "dance for you life" solos and their performances from last night and the week prior. The judges also based their decision on other criteria including what their choreographers had to say about their talent and progress on the show.
Following the three solo performances and the night's rounds of dances, the judges unanimously chose to save Jenna and then send Jasmine M. home over Alexis.
Unlike last week, Jasmine M.'s elimination occurred at the end of the broadcast.
Jasmine M. was paired up with Alan Bersten, a 19-year-old ballroom dancer from Minnetonka, MN. Jade's partner was Malece Miller, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Los Angeles, CA. Jenna is partnered with Tucker Knox, a 23-year-old contemporary dancer from Nashville, TN.
"BluPrint" danced with Mariah Spears, a 19-year-old hip-hop dancer from Phoenix, AZ. Curtis was paired up with Hayley Erbert, an 18-year-old contemporary dancer from Topeka, KS. Alexis' partner was Nico Greetham, an 18-year-old contemporary dancer from Woodbridge, VA.
So You Think You Can Dance's fourth tenth-season performance show, which will also feature another round of elimination results, will air on Tuesday, July 16 at 8PM ET/PT and the 16 remaining finalists will dance again for home viewer votes.
