Lauren Gottlieb and Pasha Kovalev were sent packing during last night's results show of So You Think You Can Dance's third season, becoming the eighth female and male finalists to be eliminated from the Fox reality competition series.

Lauren and her partner Danny Tidwell, a 23-year-old contemporary/Jazz dancer from New York, NY, performed contemporary and disco routines last Wednesday night. Following their contemporary routine, So You Think You Dance executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe commented it was "absolutely incredible."
"I never thought Lauren that you'd ever reach the potential you should on this program," he added. "You did tonight."
After her solo, Lauren and Danny performed their disco routine. So You Think You Dance judge Mary Murphy called the routine "so much fun" and gave one of her patented screams, while last week's guest judge -- Fame star Debbie Allen -- agreed and called it "exciting."
Pasha and Lacey Schwimmer, an 18-year-old swing and international Latin dancer from Redlands, CA, were paired together last Wednesday night, and they performed hip-hop and smooth waltz routines. Despite being out of his element during the hip-hop routine, Mary still thought Pasha was great, and the reviews only got better when he and Lacey tackled the smooth waltz.
"This was like a love story," commented Debbie. "And Pasha is really powerful." Nigel complimented Pasha on the "flow" of his movement, adding it was "absolutely beautiful."
Due to Fox's broadcast of an NFL preseason game last Thursday, So You Think You Can Dance 3's results show for last week aired last night instead of live in its normal Thursdays at 9PM ET (PT tape-dealyed) time slot. While the results show still filmed last Thursday night, the studio audience was ushered out when the viewer voting results were given.
"The show you are watching at home was recorded on Thursday," said So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley. "This is so the Top 4 have time to rehearse for the finale. To protect the integrity of the show and ensure the viewers at home get the results at the same time as everyone else, we've decided to clear the studio and create a lockdown situation before we reveal who your votes have sent home. So audience, I'm afraid you're going to have to leave... We're not going to go on until the studio is empty."
Once the studio audience vacated their seats, Lauren and Pasha were revealed to be eliminated. Nigel said Lauren should be "very proud" to have made it as far as she did in the competition, adding he felt she "just peaked a little too late for the public."
"I had a wonderful time performing for everyone," said Lauren after her elimination was revealed. "It was probably the best opportunity I've ever had."
Following Pasha's elimination, Nigel said he had "grown every week" and described him as a "warm, charismatic" person. Mary said it was "really hard" to see Pasha go, calling him a "great ambassador for ballroom dancing."
"I cannot really imagine myself without dancing," said Pasha during a video montage of his So You Think You Can Dance 3 journey. "Being on this show is such a great experience. I learned so many things about myself and dancing in general."

So You Think You Can Dance 3's Top 4 finalists are Lacey; Danny; Sabra Johnson, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Roy, UT; and Neil Haskell, a 20-year-old contemporary jazz dancer from Clarence Center, NY.
So You Think You Can Dance 3 will air its final performance show -- a two-hour broadcast -- on Wednesday, August 15 at 8PM ET/PT. The show's season finale -- another expanded two-hour broadcast -- will air live the following night on Thursday, August 16 beginning at 8PM ET (PT tape-delayed).
