Ryan Ramirez and Alexander Fost were eliminated by So You Think You Can Dance judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy as well as guest judges Sonya Tayeh and Jesse Tyler Ferguson and after they found themselves in the week's bottom-three couples based on home viewer votes cast immediately following Wednesday night's performance show.

"Dance is my world, it's like everything I eat, breath and sleep -- I think about it constantly. I want to be remembered as a dancer who wanted to show my soul, and I want people to know me for my heart," Ryan Ramirez, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Morgan Hill, CA, said in a video after her elimination was announced.

"When I dance, I feel like I'm on top of the world.  Performing on that stage is the most exciting gift I think I could ever receive," Alexander, a 21-year-old contemporary dancer from Alhambra, CA, said in his own video.

Caitlynn Lawson, an 18-year-old contemporary dancer from Moses Lake, WA; Sasha Mallory, a 23-year-old contemporary dancer from Bakersfield, CA; Mitchell Kelly, a 20-year-old contemporary dancer from Chicago, IL who currently resides in Atlanta, GA; and Ricky Jaime, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Miami, FL who currently resides in Tampa, FL, were the other members of the bottom-three couples in danger of elimination but they were saved by the So You Think You Can Dance judges.

Prior to the eliminations, So You Think You Can Dance also announced that first-season runner-up Melody Lacayanga; second-season contestant Allison Holker; third-season contestant Pasha Kovalev; fourth-season contestants tWitch, Comfort Fedoke and Chelsie Hightower; fifth-season contestant Brandon Bryant; sixth-season contestant Kathryn McCormick; and seventh-season contestant Robert Roldan will return to the show and serve as all-star partners for the Top 10 contestants beginning with next week's broadcasts.

Nigel also revealed Alex Wong -- who had to withdraw from last summer's seventh season after he suffered a lacerated Achilles tendon while rehearsing for the season's Top 8 performance show -- had originally been set to return as an all-star partner.  However, in a tragic twist of fate, Alex snapped his another Achilles tendon last weekend.

"On Saturday evening, he went to audition for another show entirely and he was doing the same step with them as he was doing with us when he snapped the tendon on his right foot [and] he snapped the tendon on his left foot!" Nigel explained.

"[It] puts him back to where he was a year ago now, so obviously he's terribly, terribly upset and we've lost him as an all-star this year.  It's heartbreaking."
